Heading into a new year, the landscape for accountability for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide is a challenging one. There is an increasing number of situations where impunity prevails – Myanmar, Yemen, Syria, South Sudan. Meanwhile, the International Criminal Court is overstretched, under-resourced and struggling to perform well.
